The newest racket sport is arriving in Britain. Three Balls and a Racket is tracking every court, club and conversation.
What is TYPTI?
TYPTI is played on a standard pickleball court with a 22-inch strung racket and a large foam ball. If pickleball borrowed from table tennis, TYPTI borrows from tennis: proper spin, real shot-making, and rallies that reward touch as much as power — all near-silent, thanks to that foam ball.
The rules take some liberties. There's no kitchen — volley from anywhere. Hit the net and the point stays alive: save it with a hand, a foot, or the racket handle. Games run on "stakes scoring" — take three points, but lose one at two-up and the advantage swings the other way.
Launched in the US in 2026 by Tennis Channel founder Steve Bellamy, it's pitched at the millions of former tennis players who never quite took to a paddle. It runs on courts Britain is already building — which is why it travels well.
Why the UK, why now
Britain has spent the last few years building pickleball courts at pace — and TYPTI plays on exactly those courts, with no new lines and no new nets. Every venue that went in for pickleball is already TYPTI-ready.
